profil-fisip

Universitas Padjadjaran’s Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, or FISIP) was established on October 13, 1958 as the Faculty of Public and Business Administration. The name of the Faculty then changed on August 12, 1960, based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Pedagogy, and Culture No. 66971/UU/60, to the Faculty of Social and Politics. After December 8, 1983, the Faculty would go through another name change, designating the Faculty its current name.

The various study programs ran by Unpad FISIP aim to produce outstanding experts proficient in the fields of social and political sciences. To achieve that, the courses teaching fundamental concepts of the social and political sciences are delivered to all students of FISIP. Meanwhile, there are also courses to hone the students’ professional skills, taught specially to students of each program. The courses also provide theoretical understanding as well as instruct the students on the methodologies of research in social and political science. The students are also equipped with the skills to comprehend the phenomena happening in society through fieldwork courses. Currently, FISIP offers 4 Vocational Programs, 8 Bachelor’s Degree programs, 8 Master’s Degree programs, and 4 Doctoral Degree programs.

FISIP remains steadfast in contributing both academically and socially through the many disciplines it teaches. In 2024, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences plans to realize its vision of becoming a locally and internationally competitive, research-based, social and political science institution.
